Negative World Podcast 069 - It's Brawl in the Farewell

Didn't we just have an episode? Well we did and now we have another awesome show, this time packed with tons of content in a timely fashion! You see a well known webcomic called Brawl In The Family is coming to a momentous close on October 3rd, the same date Super Smash Bros. for 3DS releases. Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) are joined by the creator of this this comic, Matthew Taranto (TriforceBun). They dive into what the comic has meant over the years, why it's ending, and reminisce about lost ideas that never made it to the main strips.

It's not just the end of an incredible comic that he's here to discuss. He's currently got a Kickstarter which will chronicle the remaining 400+ comics in a move to establish an awesome trilogy of Nintendo comic greatness. Find out the details inside and definitely do yourself a favor by visiting that kickstarter at the link below. After that the guys talk about some other projects Matthew is involved with like Nefarious and Tadpole Treble. Nefarious only has a few days left for you to go support it, so get on it and help out the cause!

Brawl In The Family: The Complete Collection

To round out the podcast the team discusses the newest 3DS announcement from Nintendo, the "new 3DS". They discuss the features and some of the controversy surrounding the upgrades and thus the possible segregation of the 3DS fan base.

Music in this episode is from the 3DS itself. Zero's theme music completes the show.

Negative World Podcast 067 - The Eve of President Roosevelt's Inauguration

Men, Women, and Mushrooms... it has been a little while since we've had an episode. Welcome back! Life has delayed the podcast post-E3 but now Joe and Stephen are back with another three-hour show... a 3:03:33 show to be exact.

Joe (Ninsage) and Stephen (DrFinkelstein) start the show by telling some stories from July and asking 'What Do You Fink?' regarding some 'hot' topics in Nintendo-gaming lately.

Then the guys talk about what they've been gaming lately. Stephen has a slew of titles to discuss... Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Limbo, The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead: Season 2: Episode 4, and The Last Of Us! Spoiler warning during the games. Below is a list of when the game discussions start to assist skipping if desired. Meanwhile, Joe spends just as much time discussing the Retron5, an all-in-one style retro-gaming console.

The break music is from Dr. Luigi and Zero's theme music completes the show.

Despite the name... this episode is ALL ABOUT E3 2014 and NINTENDO'S PRESENCE there! You'll find the gang discussing the hottest titles from Nintendo's showing and how Nintendo handled their presentation! Over three hours of content to be heard (and this is just the first of two E3 episodes!)

Negative World Podcast 064 - Mario Kart Ate My Space and Time!!!

It's the Mario Kart episode!!!! *waves hands around like Kermit the Frog... or perhaps more appropriately... a Waluigi after being hit by a green shell* (Have you all seen that .gif yet?)

Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) are met on the racetrack by Dave (Abdooooo) and Grant (GameDadGrant) for a nice one-hour Now Playing dedicated to Mario Kart 8.

To break things up we have another Music Quiz, dedicated to music from the Mario Kart franchise! Unfortunately, there is a Lightning Cloud looming overhead as the team encounters a technical difficulty and loses the last 40% of the event! It must have been Wario and Waluigi, those knuckleheads. Still, later Stephen plugs in the gap and the show does go on!

In the final segment, everyone is excited for E3 2014! Surely Grant is too but by this point in the show he had to run off to another castle. Joe, with the help of Stephen, describes a special E3 game Joe devised up and we're all excited to see how that pans out for them. Then the remaining gang discusses some things they'd like to see at E3 and some concerns they have for the event. They also discuss how Hyrule Warriors can ensure it's a distinguished game in the Zelda world and what Nintendo could really do to make this year's E3 a great show.

The break music is from Mario Kart 8 and it's utterly amazing. There are also sound-effects from Mario Kart 64 and Zero's theme music completes the show.

It's been a long hiatus and somehow the return of the Negative World Euphonic podcast lands on Memorial Day! In this 'season recap' episode, Joe and Stephen take a look back at the first five episodes by picking a song each from all ten previous themes. A slew of Negative Worlders get their picks heard in what makes for a packed episode... packed with music!

What do you think of the songs picked for this episode? Were there others that should have gotten the new light? Let us know!

Negative World Podcast 063 - From The Tarmac

It's Memorial Day Weekend to the American listeners and what shall they do with all that free time? Why listen to a 3-hour episode of the Negative World Podcast of course! (International listeners are encouraged to as well!)

Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) sit down with Peter (Octorockin) and Tom (Gamewizard65) for tons of in-depth discussions packed into one little file.

The guys start with a thorough 'Now Playing' and discover that Peter and Tom have been playing a lot of the same games lately. They discuss, Child of Light, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, League of Legends, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Kirby's Dream Collection, The Walking Dead: Season 2: Episode 3, and a little 3DS eShop title called Tappingo.

Be weary of spoilery discussions peppered throughout that segment, particularly for The Walking Dead: Season 2: Episode 3. This segment is followed by a new 'What Do You Fink?' installment which has a bonus fourth question!

In the final hour the gang spends their time discussing Nintendo's apparent image problem and their lower sales. Each member of the show brings a unique perspective of why and what works or doesn't work with Nintendo's current game plan. The conversation evolves (or devolves) into a little bit about Nintendo's marketing and even into 'It's not you, It's me' territory. I'm quite eager to hear comments in the thread over this discussion.

The break music is from Child of Light and frankly I'm in love with it. The soundtrack is truly awesome! If the discussion on the game doesn't sway you, at least listen to the soundtrack. Zero's theme music makes an appearance for the gazillionth time now.

Negative World Podcast 062 - chrisbg99's Hidden Echidna

Easily the longest episode in quite a while (or ever?), we've got nearly three hours of Nintendo gaming goodness coming at you literally the day after it was recorded! "Say what!?"

Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) enjoy the company of newcomer Tim (Shadowlink), from all the way on the other side of the Earth! We're also joined by our friend Hendrik (Jargon) who hasn't been on the Negative World Podcast since 2011... on episode 13! We've literally multiplied our episode-count over four times that since! It's about time he made a return and we're glad for it!

The guys start with a well-rounded 'Now Playing' featuring tons of games. You'll hear about, Advance Wars, NES Remix 2, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Wii Party U, various games in the Tenchu series, the brand-spankin' new Mario Golf: World Tour, and finally Mario & Luigi: Dream Team!

This is followed by a new 'What Do You Fink?' installment per Hendrik's request! They gang tackles three varied and curious questions with ease! This leads us into chatter about the Negative World March Madness Bracket. Hendrik tells us all about the idea and we discuss the results.

Finally with about an hour left we dive kart-first into discussion about the latest Nintendo Direct from last week, which focused heavily on Mario Kart 8!! We break down the whole direct, piece by piece, as we enter these last four weeks before the game releases May 30th.

The break music is pulled right from the Nintendo Direct and provides a delightful look into the new live-recorded music to be featured in the game. Zero's theme music makes an appearance for the billionth time now. ;) Overall the episode is dedicated to the late Bob Hoskins, Hollywood's Mario (amongst many other roles) and despite his lack of appearance in this episode, the title features the winner of last episode's Music Game, chrisbg99. Thanks for your patience on the reveal since we didn't want to spoil it before people could listen to it.

Negative World Podcast 061 - A Smashing Good Time

Happy Easter (to those who celebrate it) and Happy Podcast Day to everyone else! Episode 61 here which is chock full of Smash Bros. discussion goodness! Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) invite two awesome guests into the fray. Those being Grant (GameDadGrant) and Chris (chrisbg99) of course.

There's absolutely no time for current gaming as the group looks into the future at the upcoming Smash Bros. games for Wii U and 3DS. Topics range from arrival dates, to new content, and various other debates and discussions. It's a packed two-and-a-third hours of podcast action.

In leu of an interlude break this time we have a whole Smash Bros. Music Trivia segment where Grant, Chris, and Joe open their ears, use their minds, and try to figure out which short song clips belong to what franchise from the Super Smash Bros. Brawl game. The winner originally was going to get their name in the title of the podcast, but then ol' DrFinkelstein realized that would spoil it before listeners could have a chance to finish the segment. So that said, Congratulations to the person who won and so understandably is missing from this episode's title. Of course, a thanks to Zero for the theme music.

Negative World Podcast 060 - A Bag of Wigglers

Welcome to another episode of the Negative World Podcast! Newcomer Jon (HammerLord) joins us all the way from the Brazilian coast and Anand (Anand) stops by from the Windy City. Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) round out the foursome.

Jon starts us off with his first-timer thoughts on Animal Crossing: New Leaf while Anand describes the crazy amounts of games he's bought but not played. Joe expresses his feelings for the latest Professor Layton title Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy and Stephen explains why Pokemon Battle Trozei is worth looking into.

Then comes a brief discussion of Super Smash Bros. thoughts lead by Jon and finally the guys dish out tons of Mario Kart 8 talk, as per the recent treasure trove of released information. Specifics beware!

The interlude song is a timely treat of an old Mario Kart 64 favorite. Thanks to Zero for the theme music.

Negative World Podcast 059 - Nintendo Indirect

It's been a long cold winter... and it's been hard on the ol' Fink. He hopes you enjoy this long overdue episode feature and the company of his buddies Joe (Ninsage) and Grant (GameDadGrant).

There are just a ton of games to talk about this episode. Project X Zone, the Pokemon Bank, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Mario Golf: World Tour, Mario Kart 8, Yoshi's New Island, and Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy for starters... and that's me only listing every other one!

Between what we've been playing and what was in February 2014's Nintendo Direct, there's just a ton to discuss... so much so that we don't even have a break for a song. Of course still we have to give a big thanks to Zero for the theme music.

Negative World Podcast 058 - Danny and Captain Lou

Happy New Year! The first episode of the Negative World Podcast for 2014 has released! It's a doozy too! Packed full of content, Stephen (DrFinkelstein) and Joe (Ninsage) are joined by, Andrew (Zero) for another 150+ minute episode.

After some welcome-back-banter, the fellas tackle a whopping eight different games they're all playing. These range from some of the hot-items like Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds to some older titles like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Steamworld Dig.

After the 90 or so minutes of that, there's an hour-long discussion of the old Super Mario cartoons from the early 1990s. The gang remembers, reflects, rejoices, and re-considers what worked or didn't work in the three different cartoon series' that hit the US shores back then. They also fondly remember Captain Lou Albano and 'Danny Wells'. This discussion is an extension of the special audio treat found in Episode 57 of the show. With that said, Andrew has prepared a finessed version of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show theme song as performed by our beloved Negative World members. Be sure to give it a listen, whether in the episode or via the download link below.

A big thanks to Zero for the theme music as usual. This episode showcases some classic tracks from Super Mario World in the interludes.
